THE ILLVA SARONNO HOLDING’S SUSTAINABILITY REPORT 2023

It is with great pride that we’re pleased to announce the publication of the second edition of the Illva Saronno Holding’s Sustainability Report, which represents the company’s and its employees’ concrete commitment to a more sustainable future.

Against a backdrop of great geopolitical uncertainties, the Illva Group continues on its path toward improving an increasingly sustainable economic and social framework. The year 2023 was a year of important successes for the company, in which excellent growth targets were achieved, with some important corporate operations that expanded the product portfolio with brands of high quality and international depth, such as – among others – the acquisition of the majority stake in Sagamore Spirit for Illva Saronno, or the acquisition of the Alvena brand, for Disaronno Ingredients.

New features of the Sustainability Report 2023

For the 2023 Sustainability Report, Illva Saronno Holding has taken a further step forward in its journey by expanding the reporting scope to include the ICE and Bakery sectors, thus incorporating Disaronno Ingredients in the analysis as well as the Royal Oak Irish whiskey distillery. The company has structured its sustainability strategy integrating it with its business operations.

To achieve this, four key pillars have been identified, encapsulating and best expressing the sustainability initiatives implemented by all Group companies.

The pillars of sustainability pillars will constitute the focal points of Illva Saronno Holding’s action horizon, serving as a link for reporting achieved results, defining new objectives, and monitoring actions aimed at achieving them.

The four pillars that have been defined are:

  • Centrality of people
  • Quality of raw materials and products
  • Responsibility of the supply chain
  • Responsible management of energy, climate and resources

These pillars best express the relevant issues and resulting initiatives in the area of sustainability and are consistent with the company’s mission and values.

Aldino Marzorati, CEO of Illva Saronno Holding S.p.A.

As stated by CEO Aldino Marzorati in his introductory letter to stakeholders:

“Thus, while 2022 has been a year for laying the foundations, 2023 can be seen as the year of building the aforementioned main pillars of our sustainability roadmap. Thanks to increased awareness and general commitment, objectives, targets, and initiatives to be achieved over the next three years were better focused on.”

The I.S.P. project will continue in 2024 and the following years with a significant initiative focused on sustainable procurement and a training program that will gradually involve our staff.
Illva Saronno Holding thus not only outlines a path toward innovation, but is also committed to turning every business challenge into a new opportunity on this path toward a future in which excellence and sustainability go hand in hand.
